McLaren to Sell “Concours Quality” 1998 F1 Road Car
There might not be a supercar more recognizable than the F1. It’s the icon of ’90s performance, and can be said to be larger than life itself. Now being sold directly by McLaren, this example has just 2,800 miles and is fully reconditioned by the very people who made it almost two decades ago.
If you were to take delivery of this specific McLaren F1, it would almost be like taking a step back in time, with all components present, as if you were to take delivery in 1998. You’ll even receive the limited edition McLaren F1 owner’s wristwatch, and the correctly numbered “Driving Ambition” McLaren F1 book — among many other things, all of which make this a truly special version of one of the most sought after cars ever.
This particular example is chassis #069, which means it’s one of the last few built. It is painted Carbon Black and is ready to showcase all of the technology that initially made it so special. One lucky new owner will have the joy of firing up the 627-horsepower V12 engine, which still stands to this day as the world’s fastest naturally aspirated engine, with a top speed of 242.8 miles per hour. Price? You won’t see that listed in the McLaren Special Operations Heritage division advertisement. But if you have to ask…
