Why the McLaren 650S Is the Best Modern Supercar
It still amazes me that I get to say that I’m a fully accredited auto journalist. It’s my dream job. Sure I work non-stop, and see more hotel rooms than my own bed, but there are times where all the sacrifice, all the long hours, all the terrible pay just goes away and I can just enjoy myself in a car.
A few weeks ago, I had one of those such moments when McLaren dropped off a McLaren 650S Spyder. The absolutely bombastic Volcano Yellow 650S is amazing. It has 641 horsepower. The carbon cockpit weighs 70-pounds less than me. And the supercar hits ultra illegal speeds in the blink of an eye.
To celebrate the raw intensity that this car imbues, we decided to make a short little video review with myself driving. Let’s just say there’s a lot of yelling, really fast speeds, and a sound that could only be created by the God of Thunder. The 650S is my new life goal. It’s just epic, and I hate using that word, but for this car, it definitely applies.
