Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale Experience day at Ferrari-Maserati Long Island
Getting up close and personal with a Maserati is usually a pretty special affair. But when you’ve been afforded the opportunity to experience the sound of an angry 4.7-litre V8 that whips up 450hp, well that’s something else again.
Enter Ferrari-Maserati of Long Island. The only factory-authorized dealer on the island, FMLI offered customers a chance to appreciate the stunning Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, up close and personal. FMLI calls it “The Experience” and it’s little wonder why.
The Experience is as Italian as lasagna. But thankfully the food was much more special than that. Coffee? Well that’ll be an espresso, thank you. And the cars? Well, they don’t get much more Italian than this.
The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is a lightened and tweaked version of the already beautiful GranTurismo. Boosting the grunt and stiffening the suspension transforms the car into something that really harks back to the brand’s racing roots. The sculpted body kit sets this apart from the garden-variety GT, and alerts you to something quite special. But it’s also clever aerodynamically, offering more downforce at speed. Oh yes, that speed tops out at a not-insignificant 186mph.
Then there’s the GranCabrio. Taking the flowing lines from the GranTurismo, it allows the driver to really gratify their sense of hearing by infusing a metallic symphony into their synapses. Yes, the GranCabrio is a looker but sounds insane at full song.
