Mansory Created a Wild Lamborghini Urus Coupe for Those That Want Less Utility
In case anyone wanted a Lamborghini Urus two-door that looks like something Batman might drive, Mansory has created just that.
Much to the chagrin of automotive enthusiasts everywhere, crossovers and SUVs have invaded our last sacred space – the world of supercars. The world was shocked when Porsche launched the Cayenne, but since then, everybody – including Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ferrari – all have a utility of some sort in their lineup. That includes, of course, the Lamborghini Urus, a rather quick and sporty version of the Audi Q8. The point of such a machine is to have extra passenger and cargo space without giving up too much in the way of performance, which is what makes the wild new Mansory Venatus Coupé EVO C rather silly.
In all fairness, everything that Mansory churns out is a bit of an acquired taste, restyled exotics that look more like something Batman might drive than we mere mortals would. Heck, just look at the company’s Ford GT for proof of that. Regardless, there are some that will find the Venatus to be a compelling product, and one thing’s for certain – it won’t go anywhere without attracting a crowd, so if you’re into that sort of thing, well, this is right up your alley.
As one might imagine, transforming a Lamborghini Urus four-door utility into a two-door isn’t easy – Mansory had to do some extensive bodywork here to make it happen, relocating the B-pillar rearward by around eight inches and stretching the front doors to compensate. It then widened the body, adding a series of flares and extensions, along with gigantic air ducts that are typically seen on mid-engine sports cars, though it certainly fits a Lamborghini of any type. On top of that, there are wings and diffusers on top of wings and diffusers, along with two rear wings, because why not?
For those that care more about performance than style, there is good news in that department as well, because the Mansory Venatus Coupé EVO C has been tuned to churn out 900 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, which propels it to 62 mph in a smoking 2.9 seconds. That’s ultra-quick by crossover standards, and you’ll enjoy it from the comfort of your, well, very Smurf-like interior.
Overall, it’s pretty clear that the Venatus Coupé EVO C caters to a very small group of people, even if we don’t consider its price tag, which will likely raise some eyebrows. But given the fact that Mansory is only building eight of them in total, well, we’re pretty sure they won’t have a problem selling that many copies of one of the wilder custom machines we’ve seen in a while.
