Mansion of Ex-racer Richard Berry Comes with 30-car Garage

A cool $20 million gets you the 30,000-square-foot garage and a 25,400-square-foot mansion on prime Colorado property.

It’s not everyday that a Hugh Hefner-inspired 25,400-square-foot mansion in the beautiful hills just outside Denver comes up for sale, as the U.K.’s Daily Mail is reporting. And thanks to the 30,000-square-foot garage, this particular pad has a garage setup that would make Jay Leno jealous. OK, maybe Leno wouldn’t be jealous, but he’d probably sit up and take notice of it. Owned by ex-race car driver and race team owner Richard Berry, perhaps the most notable thing about the $20 million estate is the 30,000 square foot garage/showroom that it comes with. That’s right. As big as the house is, the garage is even bigger.

Berry is known for his ownership of a Bugatti Veyron, but that’s just one out of a collection of cars that at one point numbered as high as 232 cars. The garage setup at the mansion was designed to hold “only” 30 cars, which is the number he kept after scaling down the collection. At one point, Berry had 23 different Lamborghini models. Judging from the photos of the garage, he’s also into American muscle and has a good number of Corvettes, including examples modified by Callaway. There are also a lot of race cars in the collection, which is not surprising, given Berry’s past as a driver and team owner.

The mansion is set on 79 acres of prime real estate in Evergreen, CO. There are seven bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and a 50,000 gallon indoor pool. Niceties also include a two million dollar, Star Trek-Inspired home theater, Tiki bar and of course a hot tub.

But back to that garage. While Berry says the space could be converted to basketball court, ice hockey rink or even be converted to a horse stable. Frankly, any of those options would be a terrible idea. This is pretty much the ultimate habitat for someone with a lot of money and a lot of cars. Alright, now who’s got $20 million we can borrow?
