BMW Teases New M4’s Turbo Straight-Six

By -

For over a year we’ve seen dozens of spy photos and ring vids of the upcoming BMW M4, and lets just say we are all more than ready for the real deal to be show. According to the British publication CAR magazine that is all about to change very soon. The unveiling of the new BMW M4 is imminent, and BMW’s M Division has just released a video featuring the new M4’s engine note.

So what’s going to power the new M4? The magazine says a tweaked, twin-turbo version of the 435i’s 3.0-litre straight-six, which is the first M Division 3-er, well 4-er in this case, derivative to use forced induction.

The S55 engine develops up to 450bhp, and will be good for roughly 100lb ft more of torque than the outgoing M3’s 4.0-litre V8. The new power-plant is said to get 30mpg which is quite an impressive feat for an M-car, or any sports car for that matter!
