Lexus LFA For Sale With Only 72 Miles On The Odometer
Gorgeous LFA finished in Pearl Yellow has been on display at a Lexus dealership for its entire life. Now, this low-mileage legend can be yours.
The Lexus LFA was not exactly a success upon launch. Perhaps it was the close performance competition of the Nissan GT-R at a fraction of the price. Maybe, it was largely due to the fact that it wears a Lexus badge but bore a Ferrari price tag. At any rate, the LFA certainly didn’t set any sales records. Ultimately, though, that ended up working out just fine for buyers. Since only 500 LFAs were ever built, they are quite scarce. Given this fact, the appreciation for them has only grown since their discontinuation in 2012. While the original price tag north of $400,000 was offputting to most, collectors would love to snag one for that price point in this market. Though the Nurburgring Package-equipped LFAs are worth much more, base LFAs are still fetching obscene numbers. That makes this one all the more special.
This Pearl Yellow 2012 Lexus LFA is currently for sale on Bring A Trailer. It has nearly two weeks left at the time of writing and has already surpassed the $600,000 bid point. This car does not have the Nurburgring Package. However, it has something arguably rarer. This LFA only has 72 miles on it.
Why such low mileage?Â
The story goes that the owner of Arlington Lexus of Palatine, Illinois purchased this car brand new. Instead of driving it, though, it remained on display at the dealership for over nine years. Being that it was at a dealership and never sold, this LFA has the original window sticker and a blank vehicle delivery certificate. This means, technically, that this LFA is brand new and has never had a registered owner, from what we gather.
Pearl Yellow, being one of the louder color options for the LFA, is sure to garnish attention anywhere you go. Though, when driving an LFA, you don’t really need any additional help turning heads. Inside you’ll find a black and cream leather interior.
Optional equipment includes headlight cleaners and a speed-sensing rear wing with side spoilers. If you’re curious about the original window sticker price, it is displayed at $388,900. Given the exceptional condition and low mileage, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see this LFA glide to over double its original window price. Could this LFA surpass the million-dollar mark? Only time will tell.
Unfortunately, as is typical with these types of auctions, it’s safe to assume this LFA will not get many more miles put on it. Instead, it is likely destined for a car collection where its new owner will preserve its condition.

That, to us, is a bit of a shame. After all, this engine and exhaust system was co-engineered by Yamaha specifically to have a unique and memorable sound. The mighty V10 under the hood revs so fast it needed a digital tachometer because an analog one couldn’t keep up with the rapid rev changes. It’s a bit sad to think something engineered to be a life-changing driving experience is not likely to be driven all that much, as it hasn’t been for the last decade. We digress, though. It’s quite an amazing thing to see regardless.
