Racing fans can bring the spirit of the Ford GT40 with a nose panel sure to add high-octane flavor to any space.

With the recent success of Ford v Ferrari, the Ford GT40 is seeing a huge resurgence in interest and popularity. The Petersen Museum will be having a special Cruise-In this month with an emphasis on the film, the cars, and its genius creator, Carroll Shelby. Not that true enthusiasts could forget the Ferrari-slaying Ford GT40, a groundbreaking sports car built for speed and glory.

But it is exciting to see new generations of automotive enthusiasts and gearheads get interested in this especially fascinating aspect of racing history.

Now, Le Mans Coupes Ltd, U.K. importer of the Superformance GT40 evocations, is offering replica nose panels of the iconic Ford GT40. There are options in style, from the the race-stained Gulf colors of the 1968 and 1969 race winner–chassis P/1075; the rain-soaked black nose of the 1966 victor–P/1046; or something completely different and personalized the the customer tastes.

“As the key cars in the Le Mans ‘66 film were supplied by Superformance, there has been a major uplift of interest in our product range and we decided to have a couple of noses decorated for fun,” said Oliver Hulme, Le Mans Coupes’ Managing Director.  However, the response was so enthusiastic we have now added the option to our regular list of services. The innovators behind these unusual and stunning pieces are Belgian gentleman racer Jean-Denis Claessens and street artist Edmond ‘Pogo’ Thonnard. Their company After the Race has created a number of unique and striking pieces ranging from a replica hood from the 1971 24 Hours of Daytona winning Porsche 917, to a number of other notable marques.
