1976 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio

Sleek and sexy, this rare Countach was once built for royalty.

The Lamborghini Countach LP400 “Periscopio” was introduced in 1971 as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show. It made waves with its bold style and unconventional design. Created by Bertone Design, it perfected the Italian wedge in a bold and exciting way. This stunning Countach LP Periscopio is being sold by RM Sotheby’s, if you are in the market for a stunning supercar like no other.

This car, chassis number 1120238, is only one of 150 in existence. It was once gifted to Princess Dalal, the daughter of King Saud of Saudi Arabia. The car was cared for exceptionally, and is in mint condition.

The gullwing car features a custom paint job that makes it especially sultry. To create the perfect inky black, the body was stripped down to its bare metal and painted to onyx perfection. Other modifications include refinishing the Campagnolo wheels, and changing the side mirrors for better visibility.

This car runs on a 4.0-liter engine, producing 375 hp at 8,000 rpm. It hits top speeds of nearly 180 mph. Everything about this car was made to go fast, from the engine, to its lighter weight, and it’s sleek style.

It comes as no surprise that this Lamborghini has been shown at car shows and taken home a few impressive awards. Notable appearances include the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 1993, and 1st in Class win at Concorso Italiano.
