2019 L.A. Auto Show New Vehicle Debuts

Upcoming L.A. Auto Show promises a staggering 65 debut vehicles, which includes lots of hot performance machines.

Car show season is officially underway, which means that automakers will be pulling the covers off of all their brand new models. It’s an exciting time for us enthusiasts, without a doubt. Next on the docket is the always excellent L.A. Auto Show, which kicks off November 18-21 for the press, then opens up to the public November 22-December 1.

This year’s SoCal extravaganza is poised to house one of the largest groups of new car reveals in its illustrious history. A whopping 65 debut vehicles have already been confirmed for the show. Of course, a number of them are still shrouded in mystery, even as to what manufacturer they belong to. But so far, a couple dozen have been named. We sifted through the long list and picked out our personal favorites, which we’ve assembled here for your convenience.

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Alfa’s excellent Giulia sedan has been around for a while now – since 2015, to be exact. It is the vehicle that helped the brand kick off their revival, and needless to say, it’s been quite successful at that. We especially love the Quadrifoglio and its Ferrari-derived engine, obviously.

But even though the current Giulia (pictured) still looks pretty fresh, it’s time for a bit of a refresh. Apparently, the 2020 Giulia will only receive an interior redo, but that’s warranted as well. According to Car Scoops, the revised sedan will receive a new 8.8″ touchscreen and updated infotainment system capable of receiving over-the-air updates.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

The Stelvio is essentially an SUV version of the Giulia, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s also receiving the same new interior as its coupe brother. Along with the updated tech, both are expected to receive some nicer materials for the dash, a new steering wheel, and additional smart phone functions. All of which helps keep the already-attractive duo up-to-date with the newer competition.

Audi E-Tron Sportback

Audi’s regular E-Tron electric SUV (pictured) is already on sale, but the Sportback promises to offer a stylish coupe-like alternative to an already stylish machine. Audi has been mum on additional details, but did admit that the Sportback will feature new Digital Matrix headlights that operate “with unprecedented precision through the use of of around one million micro-mirrors.” Otherwise, the Sportback is essentially identical to the regular E-Tron and will be built alongside it in Brussels, Belgium.

Audi RS 6 Avant

The RS 6 Avant isn’t technically a new model, as it’s already on sale in Europe. But now, Audi is bringing their hot wagon to the states, a place where wagons of any sort are essentially extinct. Packing 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V8, this thing promises to become a cult favorite. After all, how many family haulers can claim to do 0-60 in 3.6-seconds and top out at 189 miles-per-hour?

BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe

BMW is bringing a slew of new vehicles to the L.A. Auto Show, with the new M8 Competition Gran Coupe sitting atop the pack in terms of prestige. Packing a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 producing 617 horsepower, it shaves a tenth of a second off the regular Gran Coupe’s 0-60 time, doing the deed in 3.0-seconds flat. It also comes with unique wheels, freer-flowing exhaust, Merino leather/microfiber interior, and dark exterior trim. All wrapped up in the same handsome package as its “lesser” twin.

BMW M2 CS

The M2 Competition is already an excellent performance machine, packing 405 horsepower from its slightly detuned M3/M4 twin-turbo inline-six cylinder. Now, BMW is going full bore and dropping the M4 Competition’s 444 horsepower mill directly into the M2 and adding CS to the model name. Even better, it comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. Or, you can opt for a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Either way, you’ll shave 0.2-seconds off your 0-60 time. That comes in at 4.0-flat for the manual and 3.8 for the auto.

These are just a few of the exciting new models debuting at the 2019 L.A. Auto Show. So stay tuned. Because we here at Team Speed will be providing you with live coverage during the event as well!
