Insane AWD, 4-Rotor Mazda RX7 Is One Badass Ride

By -

YouTuber’s AWD, 4-rotor Mazda RX7 literally alarms the whole neighborhood in first-drive with passenger.

It has only been a few days since Rob Dham‘s YouTube channel posted a video of his first drive behind the wheel of his insane 4-rotor Mazda RX7 and he’s already taking people for passenger rides. This despite the fact that the car has no doors and the entire front clip is off. Granted, he did limit the speed to 25-mph. When his dad drops by the shop unexpectedly, Dham convinces him to take a quick spin the 4-rotor monster. The video is short but surprisingly heart warming.

“This was not filmed for click bait, this was not filmed on purpose,” says Dahm in the video. “But its probably one of the most important moments of my life. My parents have never seen the shop. They haven’t been here.” As it turns out, his father was against the idea of Dahm building rotary motors in the first place, and the test drive gives him a chance to prove he could make it work. “But I want you all to enjoy something that you can all relate to. When your dad who was one of the biggest critics on you purchasing rotary engines. Having him be the first passenger in such an experimental vehicle.”

The drive is brief but pretty exciting nonetheless. In fact it’s worth watching just to hear the demonic sound of four rotary engines growling in unison. “Oh my god is that loud,” are some of the few words that dad gets out after the drive, which sets off car alarms and gets people coming outside from nearby businesses to see what the noise is all about. “That’s naturally aspirated, and we went less than 2,000-rpm,” says Dahm, who has yet to get the turbo functioning. “To think, that is just a collection of pieces, but it feels like a car. Its a car,” says Dahm, seemingly in disbelief to what he has created. “That’s something that we built from the ground up. That tube chassis never existed before.” Be sure to keep an eye out for further updates on this one-of-a-kind machine.
