Ferrari and Porsche dominated the supercar scene at the latest Manhattan Beach Cars & Coffee in sunny El Segundo.

For most of the world, January is a pretty awful month. You’re likely desperately trying to hang on to those New Year’s resolutions, despite the many temptations that you face everywhere you look. Even worse, the weather for most of the U.S. has been downright dreadful this month. That is, unless you live in the cozy confines of Southern California. Here, we enjoy cruise-worthy mild weather year round. And that means not a month goes by without plenty of great automotive events.

The latest of which was January’s installment of Manhattan Beach Cars & Coffee, which takes place right here in El Segundo. Thus, it would have been silly for we here at Team Speed not to attend this most excellent gathering of fine automobiles. So we did, and we certainly weren’t disappointed with what we saw. And that was a diverse gathering of fine Ferrari and Porsche machines that filled the parking lot at The Point.

Multiple generations of Ferrari were on display, from ’70s classics to a modern-day 488 Pista. Which, by the way, is a truly special, limited-edition version of an already excellent car. The lightweight, 710 hp track monster just hit dealers this winter, making this the very first one we’ve seen in the flesh. And oh what a beautiful sight it is.

Joining this impressive Ferrari conglomerate was a slew of Porsches ranging from ’50s classics to a modern-day Cayman GT4. There were plenty of air-cooled cars, a 996 to break it up, and even a nice original 928 on display. Truly a diverse group worth taking in on a beautiful SoCal day.

If all of that sounds like your idea of a perfect Saturday morning, mark your calendars for February 23. And if you’ve got a fine Ferrari, Porsche, or other supercar, bring it by for us to scope out!
