Geneva 2012: Bugatti Debuts Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse In A Sea Of Blue Carbon Dreams

One of the stars at this years Geneva Motor Show is the drop-top any automotive aficionado will be lusting after, the new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. This latest special edition Veyron, based on the Grand Sport, uses the same 1183bhp upgraded engine found in the 268mph Super Sportand will be the most powerful production roadster ever.

Bugatti claims that it was the ‘rapid success’ of the Super Sport that convinced them to create a Grand Sport with the added performance. The torque figure has been confirmed – 1106 lb ft, which puts it at the same level as the world record-holding Super Sport. This is achieved by fitting four upgraded turbochargers and bigger intercoolers. The chassis has also been upgraded to handle the extra power.

“The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible,” commented Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer.

“We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed,” he added.
