Ford Bringing Eight Custom Mustangs to SEMA

The All-New Ford Mustang GT

In addition to the eight Ford Explorers, the seven Ford Edges, the plethora of Ford F-150s, and the million Ford Focuses (Foci?) and Fiestas, Ford will also be bringing eight customized Ford Mustangs to the SEMA show in Las Vegas next week. It seems then that this year’s SEMA will be one that’s actually just a Ford show with a few Chevys added for good measure. But enough about Ford’s onslaught of custom vehicles, let’s talk about those eight Mustangs.

According to Ford, most of these eight cars are actually powered by the new four-cylinder EcoBoost, and some are downright terrifying. One of the wildest builds (pictured above) was crafted by Bisimoto. You’ll remember Bisimoto from a few years ago when he brought out a 1,000 horsepower 2JZ powered Honda minivan. This time around, the builder is showing off the BisiBoost. A new Turbonetics BTX7668 turbo with internal wastegate, a new blow-off valve, a new custom intake, new fuel injectors, a custom exhaust, new cams and spark plugs will all combine to produce 900 horsepower. Which just so happens to be almost twice that of the new Ford Mustang GT350R.

Additionally, seven other custom Mustangs will take the stage at SEMA, ranging from the wild to the rather subdued, but all with their own personal style. Personally, the Ice 9 EcoBoost Mustang, inspired by German DTM racing, is my favorite. Have a look at the others in the gallery and video below, and let us know which one’s your favorite.
