Fisker Atlantic to debut at NY Auto Show
The Fisker Atlantic mid-sized luxury sedan, known as Project Nina during most of its development, will guide the company’s ambitious plans to produce a four-door, $45,000 electric rival to the BMW 5-series.
“We launched Karma first to define what the brand was all about,” he said. “Obviously, Atlantic will sell in greater volumes, but we wanted to be known as a premium maker before introducing something cheaper.
“There’s nothing out there like Atlantic. Who says that you can’t have beauty in volume segments?”
Said Henrik Fisker in a recent interview with Autocar. The British magazine also notes a convertible version of the Atlantic is planned, and there is a possibility that the model could spawn a range of different body styles in the not to distant future.
The Atlantic is based on a brand-new platform and should go into production at Fisker’s Delaware plant in the fall of 2013. For those curious, this is the project the loan from the DOE has helped produce.
