A field of 21 Ferrari owners will take to British circuit in new 488 Challenge cars for the first time, May 18 & 19.

Some Ferrari owner want to do more with their Italian stallions than just trot them out for car shows and other select gatherings: They want to race their prized possessions. For them, the Ferrari Challenge is the way to go.

Starting May 18 and 19, a field of 21 British Ferrari owners will be the first to break the champagne bottle on the inaugural season of Ferrari Challenge U.K., all with their new 488 Challenge cars.

The UK edition of the Ferrari Challenge is the newest to join the family since the Asia Pacific series in 2011, and is kicking things off in style at the famed Brands Hatch circuit in West Kingsdown, England, 22.5 miles southeast of London. From there, the UK series will travel to Snetterton in mid-June, Croft in mid-July, and the grand finale at Silverstone in mid-September.

As for the 488 Challenge itself, the car is the Ferrari Challenge’s first-ever turbocharged Ferrari, and its most powerful with a 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 making 670 horses to the back.

Spectators at the Ferrari Challenge UK happening at Brands Hatch will also get to check out the Pirelli Ferrari series, held by the Ferrari Owners’ Club, and see a big display of Ferrari’s current offerings, including the public debut of the F8 Tributo. Not a bad way to start the latest addition of the Ferrari Challenge family.
