Exotics and Espressos from Miami, Florida

Miami, Florida, was the location for one of the greatest gatherings of cars and coffee the East Coast has ever seen. Hell, who are we kidding? It’s much more than cars and coffee – this is Exotics and Espressos!

Epicure Gourmet Market provided the classy backdrop to some of the most expensive machinery to grace garages. If you’re a supercar nut, then February 11 was a date not to have been missed.

And it showed, too, with hundreds of people cramming the streets and surrounds, along with television news coverage, the local rags and plenty of interested bystanders.

The formula is simple – take some excellent espressos, throw in some expensive metal, stand back and watch the fun take place. The weather bureau must have found out too, as the rain which had been haunting Miami all week departed on command. The event really had made its mark on mother nature.

Five days straight of precipitation made way for blue skies – and a blue Bugatti Veyron, too. But that’s just the start of the mental metal. Every Lamborghini you could possibly think of was there, and taking center stage, of course, was the manic Aventador. Famed Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni even flew in for an espresso and some conversation with the punters.

The Audi R8 GT made an appearance as well as plenty of Ferraris and Porsches. Auto aficionados couldn’t have asked for a better blend of cylinder count and horsepower tally as the cream of the crop turned out to please the crowd.

A big thanks goes out to Teamspeed’s partner in the event, Lamborghini Miami/Prestige Imports, and judging by last weekends turnout, this could soon be a regular gathering.

A kick in the guts from the caffeine and a torquey kick in the back from the engines – Exotics and Espressos certainly delivered as it was billed.
