Classic & Contemporary Jaguars Set to Gather in London this Summer

Jaguar XJR-15

Ten of the finest Jags to ever grace the road, including the rare SS1, will appear at the London Concours, June 5 & 6.

Jaguar is, if nothing else, a British institution, up there with the BBC Proms, Queen Elizabeth II, and the Rolling Stones. Whenever one approaches a Jag, they’ll likely hear the motor purring through “Rule, Britannia!” whilst pouring a cup of tea from the dash.

Thus, it only makes sense for Jaguar to make an appearance at the London Concours on the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company headquarters in London June 5 and 6, via a 10-car presentation by the oldest barber shop in the world, London’s own Truefitt & Hill.

“Looking through the Jaguar back catalogue and trying to pick just 10 to represent all the countless innovations and beautiful designs of Jaguar is no mean feat,” said London Concours director Andrew Evans. “But after hours of debate, the London Concours Steering Committee settled on this incredible selection of Jaguars, forming one very special part of our event this year.”

And what a selection there is. The ‘Great Marques – Jaguar’ display will have the likes of the iconic E-Type, the XJR-15 (Jaguar’s first all-carbon fiber car), the XK120 (then the world’s fastest production car), the Le Mans-dominating D-Type, and the SS1, which debuted at the 1931 London Motor Show, and of which only 158 examples were ever made.

Should you want to check out this display of Jaguars, as well as all of the other great displays at the London Concours, tickets to the affair are around $46 per person, around $24 for children ages 5 through 18. Hospitality options are available, as well.
