Check Out a Straight-piped Manual Murcielago (Video)

From ripping through tunnels to doing donuts, this is one rare Lambo that isn’t merely sitting in a collection.

Seldom is so much work distilled down to a single descriptive sentence. Take this one: straight-piped, rear-wheel drive, six-speed manual Lamborghini Murcielago. We came across the video above on Daily Driven Exotics’ YouTube channel. The video channel is run by a guy named Damon Fryer, who knows his cars and shares lots of interesting details. But we came in search of a certain Lambo, so, we’ve cued up the video at the most smokin’ part–you know, straight-pipe Lambo in a parking garage.

So, what makes this one special? It’s a rare six-speed manual Murcielago that’s been converted to rear-wheel drive. They came with all-wheel drive from Lamborghini, so all the power from that 6.5-liter V-12 is going to the rear wheels. It sounds amazing. Please, give it a listen, preferably with good headphones.

Not only is Fryer incredibly lucky, he’s also the first person the Lambo owner has let drive the car. After quite a few pulls, many through tunnels, they take the car to a parking lot for some donuts. Yep, good old-fashioned rubber burning. Apparently, 631 hp and RWD are a good recipe for fun. They lay down some serious rubber too. So much that they’re knocking it out of their hair afterward. Note to self: Close window during tire-shredding.

At the end Fryer is adamant: “This is hands down, the funnest car I’ve ever driven. It’s not the fastest car, it’s not the best handling car, but it is the meanest sounding car… I want one.” He then adds this sad fact: there were 27 made. That’s apparently just Murcielago’s with the manual transmission, not cars with the RWD conversion.
