Camaro ZL1 laps Nürburgring in 7.41

GM’s North American president, Mark Reuss, has confirmed a Nürburgring-Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes and 41.27 seconds for the 2012 Camaro ZL1. The test was conducted by GM and not independently. The time was set by GM’s own test driver Aaron Link. GM announced the news through their twitter account which seems to be the new medium for ring time feats of late. It’s interesting to note the ZL1’s time beat out a ZR1 tested in 2009 by Sport Auto. Kudos to GM for producing another American made powerhouse to compete with the likes of Porsche, Audi, and more.
