Bentley Celebrates 100 Years with Debuts at Geneva Auto Show
Centenary Limited Edition among Bentley’s highlights.Â
Bentley celebrates its Centenary (100-year anniversary) at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show with a range of new models, including a highly evocative new Centenary Limited Edition, inspired by one of the British brand’s most iconic racing cars. And the luxury car maker has chosen to celebrate its birthday by giving us a surprise party, debuting a lineup of new vehicles.
Mulsanne W.O. Edition
Enjoying its European show debut, and celebrating Bentley’s centenary, will be the new Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner. Named after founder W.O. Bentley, the exquisitely crafted car includes a piece of W.O.’s personal 1930 8-liter’s crankshaft. Engineers cut the crankshaft into 100 sections for display in each of the new Mulliner cars. The piece is mounted between the two rear seats and makes each Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner a unique, one-of-a-kind car. This very rare edition is limited to only 100 examples.
Bentayga SpeedÂ
The Bentley Bentayga Speed will make its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The Bentayga is the world’s fastest production SUV, and has purposeful styling that matches its performance credentials.
The 6.0L W12 twin-turbocharged enigne output has been increased to 626 hp. It reaches top speeds of 190 mph. with a 0-62 mph time of just 3.9 seconds.
Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Great Britain, the new model builds on a long tradition of Speed models that was first introduced with the Continental GT in 2007, and pushes the boundaries of Bentayga performance further since claiming the production SUV record at the grueling Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last year.
Body-coloured side skirts and a striking tailgate spoiler hint at the performance credentials of the world’s most luxurious SUV. Inside, the Speed introduces a dramatic colour split design theme and uses Alcantara materials for the first time in a Bentayga.
As with all Bentaygas, the all-wheel drive Speed is equipped with Electronic Differential Lock and four Drive Dynamic modes that help take luxury to new places. Enhancements to the Sport mode also provide a more dynamic drive. A greater exhaust character, as well as a firmer suspension tune, further increase driver engagement.
Continental GT Convertible
Making its public show debut at Geneva is the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible. Sharing the same style and technology as the latest Continental GT, the Convertible transforms into an exhilarating open-top Grand Tourer, offering supercar performance with breath-taking elegance and refinement.
This exhilarating, open-air grand tourer features a 6.0-liter Bentley 12-cylinder engine that can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, reaching top speeds of 207 mph.
