200 participants for Aston Martin On Ice 2012

Aston Martin’s ice driving experience, now in its fourth year, has welcomed a record 200 people to partake in the snow sliding spectacular.

Coming from 18 different European countries as well as South Africa, the USA, Canada, and even China, the participants were invited to enjoy 10 days of dynamic driving on the specially prepared ice field of St. Moritz/Samedan in Switzerland.

There were 16 cars used, including the DBS Carbon Edition – which Teamspeed recently reviewed – the Rapide, Virage, V8 Vantage S, regular V8 Vantage and the wickedly quick V12 Vantage.

All of Aston Martin’s cars being rear-wheel-drive, the activities showed control of the car’s capabilities as well as their stability and traction control programs.

The event is part of what Aston calls the BIG 5 European event series, which is followed up by events in Silverstone (UK) on the 4th of April 2012, Nürburgring (Germany) on the 3rd of May, Boxberg (Germany) on the 15th of July and Spa (Belgium) on the 17th of September.

If that’s not enough for you, then there’s always the Aston Martin Nürburgring Driving Academy.
