If you'd like a four-door that has a sexual rumble to it (at least mine did with Milltek pipes) and can turn on highways well into triple digit speeds in the rain; the RS4 is your flavor.
Me personally, the B8 S4 had all the speed, more comfort, and an easier daily clutch, and by easier clutch I simply mean smoother to operate i.e. a cup of coffee doesn't stand a chance in an RS4. FYI the RS4 loses ~1 hp per 1k miles on the odometer due to the FSI V8. Global Autosports or whomever loves them all those Northeastern RS4's showing up before 50k miles. After too.
The B8 S4 with a modified ECU and pulley can put down the same AWHP as an RS4. Food for thought.
To each his own, but if you're considering an S5, then look elsewhere. Pick up a used R35 GTR instead and drive the b****s off it. I did that for a year and a half (20 months) between my B7 RS4 and B8 S4.
That's my .02
interesting post!
Didn`t know about the hp loss on the RS4 yet...
how does the 335d(modded? ) compare to its stronger Audi predecessors?
