Nissan confirms GT-R SpecV for Europe - Nurburgring Sportscar Shop grand opening
Nissan has opened a new 500 square metre exhibition space for its sports cars at the Nürburgring. The Sportscars Shop will allow visitors to browse through the company's extensive motorsports history as well as get close to cars like the 370 Z Nürburgring Edition and of course the mighty GT-R.
A very close affinity exists between the track and Nissan since a record time of 7:26.7 minutes was achieved there in a 486hp (356kW) GT-R.
Another highlight at the shop is the GT-R SpecV which is a much more focused version of the supercar. It has additional carbon fibre parts, carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium exhaust system and a button-operated, short-time torque booster. Following an appearance at last week's Goodwood Festival of Speed, this will be the only place in Europe where people can see the SpecV for now, before it is launched on the continent later this year. Nissan states prices will be announced in the coming months.
Nissan's tuner wing NISMO also has space in the facility for those who desire a little extra from their sports cars. Other items being offered for sale include scale models of cars and unique merchandise, some of which is imported from Japan. To help get the public excited about the shop and its products, Nissan is planning a weeklong fest in October. It will feature activities such as drifting and track days with the Nissan GT-R on the Nordschleife.
