"Golden" Vanquish Hits the ring for some hot-laps!

As we reported last week, this is the all-new Aston Martin Vanquish, and our spies caught it today fully undisguised except for a few bits of shiny gold camo-tape, putting in some time at the ring. The official release is planned for later on this week so we will then learn about all the internals.

The styling is identical to that of the AM310 concept, shown at last month at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, but the wheels have been changed thankfully. As you’d expect, design is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The car will make use of lightweight materials, like carbon fiber for the body and aluminum for the shell.

What we do know is the new Vanquish will be sporting a more powerful version of the current V12 power-plant, matted to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Not much else is technically known on the new flagship, but we'll find that all out soon enough. One thing is that seems rather apparent to us is this would be a perfect car for the famous villain Goldmember, but we're pretty sure AM would cook up something even more special for 007.

I was questioning this as well as this color reminds me of the 1984 Jaguar XJ6 my late Grandfather in Florida owned!
