997.2 exhaust tips on 997.1

Dear all,

Any idea if possible to put the tips from 997.2 TT on a 997.1 ?
They look a bit better (and bigger ) than the one I have.

I have made some search but didn't find any information about that.

Thanks!

It shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have replaced their 997.2 tips, so finding them shouldn't be an issue either. Be sure to post pics of the install if/when you do the conversion!

Ok thanks, I was also wondering if maybe the shape in the bumper is different for the 997.2

I'd think at a minimum you'd need that black plastic trim piece that goes directly around the tip, part of the bumper but not painted. The ID of that trim follows the tip, the OD follows the bumper. But I also imagine the OD is different between the two bumpers. Could be worth a try if you find one for cheap, but an aftermarket tip made for the 7.1 would be a lot easier. Maybe you don't even need to run that trim piece. Not sure if TA tips use it, modify it, or remove it completely.

They might fit, but I would get some dual tips as below

They don't fit unfortunately, the imput holes on the back of the tips on the 997.1 are centered, but with the 997.2 they are further to the right. Unless you had them modified they will not fit.

I completely forgot about this. Thanks for pointing that out. I retract my previous statement. My request for before/after pics still stands though...

The exhaust needs to be modified so the tips would be centered. Also, the 997.2TT tips have a 65mm hole and the 997.1TT are 60mm

The exhaust tips are very big, i don't know if you put them on the 997.1TT bumper
