Need help on the next watch

Need some help deciding what new watch to get, budget is from 7-10k and have been looking at the PAM 292 but no pig on that watch is just a bummer and for 2x the price I don't think i can justify having it with the current market situation.

Can you guys help me out what would you get if you were pulling the trigger on one.

Thanks so much TS

B, do you want my 339? That's the only ceramic panny I have right now.

The 292 is one of my favorite PAM's and one that I actually still own. Great sporty casual piece... fit is perfect.. dial so simple to read and manage. It's a no brainer for me in the 5-6k area.

You don't want ceramic IMHO. They chip easily and Panerai seems hesitant to stand behind their ceramic pieces. Just my $0.02...

I've had no issues with the 292 and it's been in my collection for years now.

I've just heard the horror stories; you don't always hear about the good stuff haha. I guess that goes with everything in life.

Have heard that in some instances, but very rare. I've had the 292 and 339 for a while.. both perfect.. no worries whatsoever.

Both member swordsman and member graytt have posted pictures of their ceramic chipping off.

Saw that. Panerai clearly needs to address these issues.

The issue is only with the coating process used for the 339 (https://teamspeed.com/forums/watch-f...l-no-more.html)

Their other pieces are fine... MikeS has a ceramic and no issues there (I believe)

My fault - I thought that composite case and ceramic were similar.

Have had big problems with my 292. It is now for the second time within a year back to the factory which is a process that takes many months and costs a lot. Both times I was to blame for - dropped the watch on the floor - but honestly any other piece would have survived this easily. Both times most of the black bezel came off and i am now almost convinced that the panerai PVD process on this particular watch is faulty. I am now refusing to pay again more than 1k to repair this for the 2nd time - the watch is still under warranty, I am waiting for an answer from the factory.

I still love the watch and panerai in general and I wished this did not happen or at least I hope it will not happen again.

I did not like my PAM 312 which I had for only 1 year. It was 1 of 3 watches, a SS submariner and a two tone Daytona. The PAM was only worn a few times per week but was always about 3 minutes faster then the other watches. It would do this after just 2 days, and I reset many times and it happened every time.
This happened whether I had it on a winder or not. Also its reserve was much less then the rolex's even though it was supposed to be more.
It also started showing many scratches on the polished parts.

Then the 339 is the answer but all of them are 16k + that I can see.
