Also, as far as getting into Luger's.... gotta give the maitre d' a hundo.... Otherwise they'll tell you the waiting list is 3 months for dinner. |
^^ I have never experienced that |
Italian = Alto Madison & 5th I believe. AMAZING food, ambience and service is A + |
Tomorrow can be your first :lol: ... call up Lugers tomorrow, ask for reservations for 2 anytime after 5 PM during the weekend. You can get literally walk in for lunch, no questions. In August me and a buddy tried to make reservations over the phone... no luck. |
A vote for BLT Steak and the Porterhouse for two. |

Minetta Tavern is the best steak - but good luck getting a reservation on short notice. Peter Luger is the good second choice - but it's not fancy. - chuck Chuck is spot on, Minetta is the best last 2 trips to NY went with the Folks as they have an in. I grew up with Lugers and that is #2. |

I've been to the better steak houses/meat joints in NYC and my personal choice is Peter Luger, mostly because the steak is somewhat fatty and flavorful. The bacon there is great too. |
Jamie, where did you decide to go? I was just in NYC and had two great meals there (upper eat side - David Burke Townhouse) and in Tribeca at Robert Dinero's place - Laconda Verde. Was thinking about a steak but decided on these two..... |
