2012 Major League Baseball

In the absence of Dana, I decided to create this thread, given that the season starts next week.

I'm looking forward to a fun year!

I think some of these players will have break-out years; I am definitely going to try and get them on my fantasy team(s):

Matt Kemp: Proven he has been productive and effective for the Dodgers, and he only seems to be getting better.

Ryan Braun: Although Braun has a strange stance, it does not seem to defeat him from improving offensively.

Ian Kennedy: This guy seems young, and has lots of potential. After establishing a 20 win record, he will be the ultimate gem for Arizona.

Ervin Santana: Despite his MLB fluctuations throughout his career, Santana has some of the best stuff (amazing slider), and will likely increase his Ks this year.

Dustin Ackley: Being in Seattle, Ackley has prooven to be one of the most effective rookies for the Mariners in the past ~10 years. He is also a very quick and agile second baseman.

Troy Tulowitzki: I am speechless about Tulowitzki. His defensive play is stunnning, and he is one of the best all-around talented players in the game. He is young, and has lots of prime years ahead of him to dominate the game. Tulowitzki seems to get better each season.

Thanks for starting this Rob. Really enjoyed the MLB thread last season. I know Dana is getting ready for what is sure to be an exciting season for his Angels. Happy baseball is coming back soon!!

Good game for the M's! I'm very excited for Ackley- already off to a hot start.

Sencond year in a row that I will not make opening day in STL :shrug:. However, working in Ft Lauderdale I will be attending the Miami Marlins game vs STL. They only play one game and then off to Milwaukee.

For sure. Now with a stacked lineup on the Angels, they will be a fierce competitor with Texas.

Well, who is everyone's pick to win the World Series this year? I really don't know. Quite a few good teams on paper.

I'm very anxious. Got tickets for opening day and for the future stars vs all stars game too!

Ready for another phillies season. Going to be interesting.

I will have to go with the Rays. They still seem young, and they have a stacked pitching rotation and offense. Seems too early to make this decision, but we'll have to see how this season plays out.

rays suck... they got lucky. Marlins or nationals have a better chance then the rays. Reason why media loves the rays is theyre a young team with a low payroll.

Sox play their first game of the season @1 against the Tigers today.

Wow. What a great Opening day. M's pulled off a great win, but I am truly amazed with the Rays-Yanks game. Pena was something else today.

What's going on with all of these multi-homers? Could not believe the Red Sox-Detroit game.

Wow Sox off to a real rough start. Going to be a long season I think.

^^ I still have hope in the Sox, but I also think Detroit will be very good this year. Can't go wrong with their lineup and an excellent pitching rotation.

First time since 1966 that both the Sox and Yanks start 0-3. I know it's very very early, but it is looking like a very interesting baseball season already.

Oh and I also saw a cool statistic on Jamie Moyer the other day. Jamie Moyer has faced 8.9% of all batters.....EVER. That's amazing.

Alright I've decided Detroit is my new favorite team.

Phils put together a nice win last night.. got to see it in person. Now we have seen they are capable of playing small ball they are going to need to do it more often until Howard and Utley come back.

Sox were up 7-0. Now they are losing 9-8. Pathetic........

And Phil Humber for the White Sox threw a perfect game today against the Mariners. 21st Perfecto in MLB history. Amazing.

What a day for baseball. They cut the game to watch the end of the perfect which was awesome to come back right after SWISHER HITS A GRAND SLAM. Then the Yankees go on to further punish the gay sox in there 100 anniversary weekend.


It was also supposed to be rainy today and the weather is gorgeous couldn't have a much better day!
