Button says Vettel's inexperience mad championship easier.

Sebastian Vettel's youth and inexperience played against him in 2009, according to new world champion Jenson Button.

Button told Germany's Bild am Sonntag that if Michael Schumacher had been at the wheel of the Red Bull, he would have been pushed much harder for the drivers' title.

"When I was 22 I was nowhere near as good as I am now," Button, 29, told the newspaper. "I was not necessarily slower, but you're not as smart. I think we saw that with Sebastian. He made enough mistakes to help me out."

The Brawn driver insists he is not being overly critical of Vettel.

"He is good; very good for his age," he said. "But we have seen that he still has a lot to learn. Over the whole season he was not consistent enough."

Sorry, if Vettel was in his car for the first 6 races he would be the world champ.

Vettel is twice the driver Button is imo. given both drivers have the similar cars, Vettel would mop the floor with button, and do it again for not getting the corners.

Brawn won the Championship for Button, if it wasn't for the car, Button would have less points than Lewis Hamilton.

I agree, that this was a Brawn win and not a Button win. With the same equipment, Vettel is a much better driver than Button. I also hope Vettel wins the Championship next year. However, it's going to be tough with Alonso at Ferrari and the Scuderia putting a lot of R&D into next years car.

nope, this was his year, at least as long as he is at Red Bull. Ferrari and McLaren aren't going to suck this hard 2 years in a row, the championship will go to one of their drivers next year.

Vettel won't win it, but he'll come damn sure close like he did this year.

Just look at this season.

Red Bull Renault had no double diffuser or no KERS. They only thing Red Bull Renault had over Brawn was one very important person. Adrian Newey! That coupled with the Renault motor pushed results.

Look for the team to step it up next year.
