Looking To Get Into Macro Photography - Need Lens Suggestion

I am looking to get into macro photography.

I have a Nikon D7000 but need a good lens for closeup shots.

I was looking at this one:

Amazon.com: Nikon 60mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Micro-Nikkor Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras: Camera & Photo

Thoughts? Suggestions??

Looks like a good one to me Dana! How do you like the d7000? Im guessing it came with the 18 105 lens?

A macro lens should do the job. :)

100 or 200 lets you get further from subject, but pricier

Thanks for the tips!

I love the D7000.

Actually, I got a package that included a nice 18-200 lens.

Are you sure you wanna get a fixed focal lens? Although the quality will be very good, it doesn't give you the flexibility to really zoom in (unless you walk closer to the subject ofcourse).

I got me these to see if I wana go ahead with a good or higher-end lens

Amazon.com: Kenko DG Auto Extension Tube Set for the Nikon AF Mount.: Electronics

Now I feel that these tubes do the job I need and will not get a micro lens any time soon...

Here is my thread ---- https://teamspeed.com/forums/photogr...nko-tubes.html

This would be an addition to my set of lenses.

I have several zoom lenses and such that take care of most everything but closeup stuff.

It will still look small, regardless of how macro the lens is
