Great race. Love that video. Geico and CMS were duking it out all day- lots of fun to watch. I've got a set of shots from the day posted here.

This was probably the last race for this boat under the Geico flag. Marc told me they were gonna swap the turbines into the Mystic the following week. Sad to see the old girl go- this 44' MTI is one of the most popular offshore race boats of all time.

Miss Geico broke the tunnel flap off Saturday. Long story short, starting at about 3:30 pm, my kid fabricated a part and helped work on the boat till about 2:30am Sunday morning. Pics below of the missing flap, and him sitting under the repair.

Sunday, they broke a gearbox.

I hear the entire drive line, both sides, are getting rebuilt right now.

I had the opportunity to meet some of the team on Sunday. Seem like a great bunch of people.

The top pic is the boat repaired. Next is my kid and the repair team, then my kid after the repair that morning, and finally, oops, flap missing.

Well that would explain why by the time I got to the beach to take pics of her she was already on her way back in! She only ran about 25% of the race. Waves were 4 foot rollers with 35 mph gusts. Not a good day for a boat race.

Amen, brudda!

A few of the Mystic- from Patchogue, NY (Long Island) last weekend, and Ft Lauderdale last spring.
