Dodge Viper takes latest Nürburgring Record
The Viper gives the LF-A a snake bite throwing down a 7:12 run on the ring

Well that sure was a short lived record for the Lexus LF-A Nürburgring Edition. After the LF-A posted a very impressive 7:14 run a few weeks ago, the boys from Detroit send out a Viper ACR to throw down a good old fashion American whoopin' posting a 7:12 run on the ring this morning.

We have no official word yet on who was piloting the viper or which one of the two cars posted here achieved the amazing 7:12 time, but we are quite certain this is valid and official confirmation will come any minute now. Until then feel free to throw out a USA chant if you so desire.

Keep in mind this record is still with a fraction of the practice and prep time that went into Porsche, Nissan, and Lexus's runs. Translation: With the same amount of effort as the competition expect seconds more to be shaved off.

How do you figure?

They have been running the Vipers at Nurburgring for quite a while now. If I can recall correctly, in 2008 the Viper ACR ran a 7:22 lap there.
