I just feel they got hammered by their shit tranny and cars hitting the dealers more than the Hookers do.

Italian blood runs deep tho. Way deep and after 4-5 years of non tranny issues these cars will make a come back.

Remember their dealer networks are tiny as well. It's hard to sell a car for $140k to a customer 100's of miles from a dealer. It's just too tough with problems. So this also hurts typical resale as well.

Crap there are Porsche dealers on every corner.....dime a dozen really....

To tail end of what you just said- the Maserati dealers had the Ferrari arrogance mentality thing going (ironic/stupid) in full force. (NOT all but most dealers).

Since I have to shop my competition, I once asked a Maserati Sales Person if "Maserati addressed their transmission issues yet?" He said "It was a client perception issue; not Maserati issue".

Ironic that the local Maserati dealership couldn't sell a car if people came in the dealership with bags of money and SELL ME on their forehead...

We bought their franchise and sold more Maserati in 4 weeks of ownership then they did ALL year last year.

Maserati WILL be formidable opponent in the next few years. Cool hot products. Great customer service. BOOM!

Success!

client perception? LMAO

I had a good friend who was driving down the backroads home at 45mph. All 4 wheels locked up and he skidded into the ditch.

His perception of the transmission that locked on him.

If frawking sucks :)

99.5% of Maserati Sales problems are they are directly linked to Ferrari Sales

Until this downturn (even though Ferrari is still selling out) Ferrari's sold themselves. GM's filled in order forms for each color and model when he choose who got it.

These are the same guys pedaling Maserati. They don't go looking to sell anything. Almost never advertise and just wait for walk ins.

Those days are gone for Mas and Ferrari learned hard that the recession made them reach deeper than they ever had.

This should create a better market. Plus I've always thought they were beautiful cars. Just way too much money.

Pretty much how dealers have been discounting QP's since 2007 by 30-40k off MSRP shows how overpriced the car is for the market. I have always said it and IMO its a $100-110k car. $150k for that car is way too much.

Also keep in mind driving one for 2-3 years takes off an additional $40-50k+. Ridiculous depreciation from QP's...

Our local Ferrari/ mas dealer has already started bringing in more salesmen to accommodate a larger mas line. Way too early in my opinion

No, I completely understand what Steve is saying. but it's NOT apples to apples. You can't conveniently dismiss the cars original MSRP just to arbitrarily make the depreciation better on a car. Sure he will fair better then someone who bought it new; but that's still not a real comparison of depreciation.

Go MSRP to MSRP and how old the car is (in this case we're using a 4 year comparison) and w/o any doubt the Porsche will hold a better value % wise compared to it's original MSRP.

You know this.

Stopper: I will make this very simple for you -- buying a lightly used Mas will likely be more economical for me (in terms of depreciation) than a boring, new 911. Now how do you argue with that? I don't care what the MSRP was.
