New Ferrari Dino As Scale Model : Pre-Ordering Is Open
"Mattel drops bomb
Be the first on your block to own the new Ferrari Dino, the car that has been previously denied high and low by Ferrari HQ in Maranello, Italy. Mattel, according to GrandPrixLegends, has announced a 1/18 scale model of the new Ferrari Dino for 2008 and will be priced at just GBP 59 (Euro 78, USD 121).
At the Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo and Managing Director Jean Todt announced to the gathered press that Paris will be honored with the world debut of a new Ferrari, but they failed to give more details. It stands to reason that this new Ferrari will indeed be a new entry level, or baby, Ferrari.
What name the new Ferrari will receive is still a popular argument, but with GrandPrixLegends simply refering to it as the new Ferrari Dino and we can't help but agree with them although GT420 or 470 are still in the cards.
Lehmann has in the meantime spotted the new Ferrari at the Fiorino test track, giving us a first glimpse of the actual car. The new baby Ferrari will be based on the Maserati GranTurismo (front engined) platform and will be powered by a V8, taking up its niche placement between the Ferrari F430 and Maserati GT."
