Spied Again: Ferrari Enzo Successor!

Our trusty Teamspeed spies delight us today with a new set of images of the highly anticipated Ferrari Enzo (F70) successor, spied during a test session in Maranello.

The only design detail that is known so far is the shape of the rear window, which, as James Glickenhaus has let it slip, will be similar to that on his P4/5 Competizione.

As for what will power the vehicle, earlier media reports indicate that Ferrari will use a petrol engine delivering up to 800 hp (likely to be a V12), which will be assisted by around 100 electric horses.

Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa revealed to British magazine Autocar at the 2012 Beijing show that his firm had to adopt hybrid technology as it is “the only way to meet CO2 emissions regulations, we can’t do it simply with weight reduction”.

The HY-KERS system will make the new Enzo the cleanest and fastest Ferrari in the range.

"Compensating for the weight of the system was the hardest challenge", according to Felisa, but the Italian maker has managed to retain "the necessary centre of gravity and weight balance".

The Kerb weight will be similar to the track-only Ferrari FXX with a figure of around 1157 kg. It will be achieved with the lightweight carbon fiber body while the chassis will be dominated by aluminum.

Codenamed the F70, the new super car has specs that should easily allow it to surpass the performance of its predecessor and engineers are reportedly aiming to exceed the all conquering Bugatti Veyron. This means we could expect to see a 0-100 km/h time of less than 2.5 seconds and perhaps a top speed in excess of 408 km/h. Rumors suggest the F70 will be shown to select Ferrari clients later this year before a full public debut is conducted in Geneva in March 2013.

The 458-style headlights are going to be on this too? Real creative, Ferrari...

President of Ferrari has said it will be presented before the end of the year.

And press releases says that the car will be shown later this year in public.

Do you know if the F70 will have those FF headlights?

I know the weight is going to be a lot less than the Enzo but the dimensions of this thing look really small. Do we know anything about wheelbase width etc yet? Can't wait

Most test mules are parts-bin cars - sometimes borrowing the entire chassis - in order to allow for legal use on the roads without giving away the final details of the new car being developed. No way those headlights will carry over to the finished F70.

He said it was an FF headlight. I didn't disagree - my comment was that they won't carry through to appear on the final version of the F70.

This car is going to be AWESOME.

I also hope it doesn't have the 458/FF style headlights. The Enzo kind of set the bar for Ferrari's newer design language at the time, hopefully this does the same rather than following it.

looks like it hit a bunch of trash cans while on a test loop. very strange but no doubt its in the initial test stages

I just hope Ferrari ditch the ugly grill and headlights and go for something simpler.
The F12 could've been so much more appealing.

I've entered in the Paris Motor Show website and Ferarri is on the list of exhibitors. And some more interesting names at the list:

- Bentley
- DeTomaso (Pantera?)
- Lamborghini (facelifted Gallardo, "Cabrera", Sesto Elemento, Aventador Roadster?)
- Maserati (Quattroporte?)
- Mclaren (P12?)
- Porsche
- Rolls Royce

At least we know we have something to expect about them.

It could be a trick of subliminal psychology where they make the mule so horrendously ugly that when they do finally show the finished product your brain can produce no other reaction than to love it.

Ferrari could be onto something here... ;)

Ferrari is notorious for being the ultimate in making their cars look ugly. ;)

They sure are amazing at it.

I hope they will stop pulling parts from their bin, and recycling them onto their new cars.

Notice the scoops in the back for the cooling ducts on the 458 similar to what we have seen on the new Enzo test mule?
Then on July 28th 2009 Ferrari unveiled 5 official pictures.
This time around might not be the same timing...but we are pretty close...I think...

It seems that yesterday another mule was testing. I looks like if it has camo even in the roof.
