Well I guess Ferrari isn't the only place Guido Bandito and his Cowboy Amico's have infiltrated... they've got a branch at Lamborghini, as well!! Glad to see they're expanding . Anyway, this one looked just as bad as some of the stuff from Maranello... scratches, swirls, holograms, etc. It also had some other surprises... Krisz, my wrapping/clear bra guy, called me about this car and told me to come down and have a look at the paint because even the customer spotted the swirls on an overcast day. He also wanted to show me the world's worst clear bra installation. I showed up with my flashlight in hand and started snapping pictures and here's what I found >>









Holy shnikies!!!I thought he was joking! What did they wrap this thing with, a Tesco bag?? They charged my customer 1,000 Euros for this atrocity and the wacko that did it told him, "Don't worry, it'll clear up in a week." And monkeys are gonna fly outta my butt...





And the "installer" scratched the bajeebus out of it when he put it on... I sure hope this moron didn't quit his day job as a street sweeper.

Ahhhh!! As if the matte finish weren't enough to make me puke... there's some serious scratches on this thing to top it off... he must have applied this with a credit card.

A new product I've been testing lately. It's another "No rinse" wash solution that you put a couple of caps full of solution into a bucket and viola! I don't think it uses polymer technology like ONR, but I have to be honest, I like ONR (especially the smell... yummy!!) but I think the whole "encapsulates dirt particles" is a false icon. Sure it may do a great job of encapsulating those smaller particles of dirt and dust (that really aren't going to harm your car anyway when flushed with a large amount of water) but it's not going to protect squat if there's sand on your car. I know there's probably going to be a huge debate about that, but...



All finished up for day 1. I only had to polish out the damage on the front of the car and the jambs on day 1, then I left Krisz to install the wrapping correctly.













Here was another surprise that I discovered on the car. The front, passenger-side wheel had been repainted and very poorly . I spent about an hour on the phone with Lamborghini Austria trying to coordinate things to have it replaced then the next day on his way to a car show in Austria, my customer took his car back and they replaced it immediately.

Day 2 would prove a bit more challenging because of the battle with the cold...



Here's my best friend Misi using my name in vain and saying nasty things about my mommy as he plunges his hands into the icy no-rinse solution... it was -5 today.

Most of the damage was removed with a finishing pad and Insta Cut #30 (finishing polish) and some of the deeper scratches were removed with IC #15 and my new, swanky cutting pad. I'm going to do some more testing on these pads before I reveal them publicly, but so far it's the best and most durable heavy cutting foam pad I've ever used. Less a couple of deeper scratches that I left alone, everything came out perfectly.

I ran into a problem a while back when I was doing a nero California and the same thing happened again on a pozzi blu Scaglietti, red Merak, etc. Even with the finest combination that I used (finishing pad and Insta Cut #30), I was still getting holograms on these paints and I was going bonkers trying to figure out why. I was getting the same thing on this Gallardo, too. The paint was surprisingly soft on this car and extremely thin to boot (80-110), but when I was on the jeweling stage I was leaving holograms and I figured out when I did the first California that I had this problem on is that I was jeweling to slowly! And this was @ 900! So what I did was bumped it up to about 1,500 RPM, finished the polish down and presto! No holograms! So if you ever get to that point when you ask yourself, "Am I cutting it more or not cutting it at all???" Try to finish up @ 1,500 or so and see what it does for you (I've tested this on ceramic clears only!).

Here's a shot after the first layer of wax, Collinite 845 (a little streaky still because it didn't want to cure properly in the -5 weather). The second coat of Zymöl Vintage was applied by hand 1 hour later.











The front of the car has a hydraulic system for safer parking ! And when the car's lifted I can fit my feet under it to polish the sides.

Thanks mate and no I think they'd have a hell of a time pronouncing that ! Hajdúszoboszló has a wicked aqua park that I've been to several times! Let me know if you come back over here! Yes, there are tons of exotics here, all hidden in garages and usually only taken out to the track occasionally because the roads are so horrible... and they're hiding from the tax man .

Great stuff Jesse!!! love the "going to the ski slopes look" but you were actually working on a car.............most of the Lamborghini's I have done were not even close to having the factory paint defects Ferrari puts into their cars(lambo is half german.....)car looks fantastic!!.

Thanks Bob! Yeah I had to bundle up and keep my truck running downstairs the whole time so we could get a little heat and huff some CO2 at the same time . Yeah Lambo has been VW'd for a while now... the buttons in the cockpit are a dead giveaway... R8 ATW!
