Porsche Cayman GT4 Spotted! 5 Attachment(s) Attachment 126935 Porsche Cayman GT4 Spotted! It’s been less than a month since Porsche introduced the Cayman GTS at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show in China, and these pictures prove the mad-geniuses in Germany are working on yet another, hopped-up version of the Cayman. It seems the big brass at Porche are no longer worried about the range-topping Cayman surpassing the base-model Carrera, as with less weight, and at least 375hp (we're guessing here), this surely will leave it in the dust. Rumors are suggesting this new Cayman could feature a unique engine, possibly one based on Porsche’s next generation four-cylinder, but again these are only rumors so take it with a grain of salt. Power will be transferred to the wheels via a transmission based on the PDK box offered in the current 911 GT3, and the new GT4 will feature a stripped out cabin. Sounds rather exciting doesn't it? Ohh my goodness, that would be awesome! Please, Porsche, build that car! |
That car is sexy as hell. The lines and proportions really work. This is a huge for me because I am a 911 or nothing guy. I wonder how it will compete with the new Corvette Stingray in the performance dept. |
Wow! Jaw-dropping! |
My letter of intent is already in with my OPC... This should be superb. Press in the UK are saying the Hybrid system would be integral. Would've been sceptical about that 12 months ago, but having been up close to the 918 Hybrid - it'll be a rather exciting proposition. |

I know it is stupid saying this BUT IF they build this it needs to have a stick #%^#%!! ;) |
Love! |
Thats not stupid....Thats a request for a real drivers car. I totally agree.

This is exactly what I've been wishing from Porsche. Love it. |

I'm not a huge fan of the Cayman but this version is hot. Looks incredible. |

What's the likelihood of a Boxster-equivalent to the new Cayman GT4? Seeing as both a Cayman R and Boxster Spyder were released last time, I for one think that it's possible. I also remember reading an article from Motor Trend stating that the Cayman GT4 would be joined by the Boxster equivalent called Boxster RS Spyder. Of course, these are all rumors... But perhaps some of you have a bit of inside info to share? Reason I ask is because my uncle is ready to finalize his order on a Boxster GTS, which would be a bad move if a ≈ 360hp Boxster RS version is to be released within a year or two. Any info is greatly appreciated! |
I cannot believe how bad the activity has gotten in this forum... Are you all sleeping under rocks, or has everybody left? :( |
|
Amazing! |
Wow. I certainly prefer it to the GT3, and I think the 991 GT3 is perfect. |
Does GT4 imply 4 wheel drive?? Car looks amazing and those renders are HOT! |

I believe GT4 implies the GT4 European racing series. Much like the GT3 was for the GT3 racing series. |
Any other news as of late? Haven't heard much. |

420 hp would be ideal. Maybe put in a 6sp MT and call it a day. :) |

Been quiet on the Cayman GT4 front for a while, but Planet-9 appear to have spotted the car (briefly) on the Porsche Driving Experience website: http://www.planet-9.com/news-items/102172-cayman-gt4-confirmed-porsche.html]Cayman GT4 Confirmed by Porsche |
^ Saw that article before. gt3 rs was in it as well! what i am hearing is that it will have some form of electric power around 400 hp and pdk only.. wich is very sad hope i am wrong! |
This is such a great looking car.... hopefully there's something substantive behind the looks and not just another marketing exercise. |
