All-new Lamborghini Gallardo due soon: Shanghai motor show 2013

A VW Group official has confirmed that an all-new Lamborghini Gallardo could be available by 2014



An all-new replacement for the Lamborghini Gallardo will be launched in a "short time", a senior Volkswagen Group official in China has revealed.

Weiming Soh, Volkswagen Group China's sales and marketing chief, confirmed the launch of a new Gallardo was imminent on the eve of the Shanghai motor show.

"We will come out with a new Gallardo in a short time and be able to further progress with Lamborghini," said Soh.

Audi is known to be lining up a replacement to the Gallardo's sister car, the R8, for launch in 2014, so it's likely a new Gallardo, which has been on sale for almost a decade, could launch next year also.

I heard the factory will finish the production of Gallardo at october.

Yup, the Gallardo production line will be stopped for two months mid-fall for upgrades to begin building the new model.

Seems we can hope for Frankfurt launch and deliveries early 2014 or private previews late fall, launch Geneva 2014 with deliveries starting shortly after.

Guess it depends on how fast they'll finish the test program.

Seems like the base model will be NA V10, about 620 hp, DCT and extensive CF usage. There're rumors floating around about forced induction engines being considered by Lamborghini, but seems its a bit far away as for now.

But, what I heard was different. They have to make all new thing - think as Murcièlago to Aventador - so they have to take alot of time even if they said 'We can make it ASAP'.

They'll finishing their prototype testing around November.

2014 Geneva is the destination and the delivery will start at the late spring.

Are they sure? I mean, they can still make some limited editions of the current model.

 

About start of the year they said some hints about special edition of #NOVA Gallardo like 'Bicolore' or 'Tricolore' some kind of..
