So a man drops off his Gallardo at his mechanic, who later takes it for a high speed run. The mechanic gets clocked going 100mph in a 55mph zone and the car gets impounded as required by law.

The police commissioner has the authority to return the car, but of course he can't make an exception for a Lamborghini. The car will remain impounded for 28 days.

"Police Minister Rob Johnson said he sympathized with the owner but that the law acted as a strong deterrent to hoons.

"I have some sympathy for him but it's a situation that he has to take up with the garage owner," Mr Johnson said on Thursday.

"It's not something that I'm prepared to change the law for, simply because somebody who owns a Lamborghini does not have that car for 28 days."

Owner doesn't break any laws, yet get's punished--without a trial no less. :mad:
