I'll add that my Elise is the loudest, most uncomfortable, twitchy car I've ever had the pleasure of driving. But, and this is a big but, you're actually involved in driving the car. No computers beyond a crude traction control, if you have it at all, and a pretty good ABS system... if you have it at all. It feels every bit a road legal racing kart.
Subaru and Toyota both just realized outright speed is pointless: you can't drive any supercar 100% on the street and few of them let you actually drive. A Lotus won't be any of that. It will annoy you, and occasionally infuriate you, but every single time you drive it you'll have a smile on your face.
