I think I may stray over to Chevy ;)
Been dreaming of the new Camaro ZL1. Looks like an absolute beast!

Some stats:
6.2L supercharged V8 engine
580 horsepower and 556 lb.-ft. of torque
Clocked the Nürburgring in 7:41.27
0-60 in 3.9 seconds
StabiliTrak, stability control system
Rear wheel drive
Magnetic Ride Control™
Brembo® performance 4-wheel antilock disc brakes

This is how I would spec mine:

These are too expensive for what they are IMO. GT500s are much cheaper for matched (or better) performance.
As was said above, there's a lot to choose from in that range to be overpaying.
Pics of whatever you get.

People seem to be confused about how much this costs. Base price is $54,350, v.s. $54,650 for a GT500(both prices are straight from dealer websites). Both of these cars will slaughter pretty much anything at that price point, but they've got different strengths. If you like to go to the track, like me, the ZL1 is your car. Completely track ready right out of the gate, as all performance-related equipment comes standard. With the GT500, you'd NEED the SVT Performance Package, which is another $3,495 on top of the base price, AND the Track Pack, which is another $2,995. And you'd probably want to pick up an aftermarket brake kit as well, as review after review states the GT500's brakes aren't up to par, or at least they don't stay up to it for more than 1 lap. Hopefully they'll fix that issue for the 2014 model year. The ZL1 is also easier to live with, according to reviews, aside from terrible visibility due to the narrow windows.
But if the drag strip or a quick blitz between street lights is more your style, the GT500 will eat anything short of a Corvette Z06, and perhaps even a couple of those if you're a good enough driver. It's more of a handful, but I personally think that makes it a more rewarding car to drive. Makes you feel like you accomplished something when you manage to tame it.
Personally, I like the ZL1 better; it's just more my kind of car(though it REALLY needs to lose some weight). But, alas, I'm too tall to comfortably fit in a modern Camaro for any significant period of time(how Lebron James does it, I have no idea). So, if I was in the market for a muscle car, I'd go with the GT500(though I'm far more partial to the Boss 302 as far as Mustangs go).
It's all down to personal preference and what you actually plan to do with the car.

^^Yes you are right, they are not available in SA. But I might be moving to the states in the next few months for work, so unfortunately the C63 will be sold. Just dreaming of the ZL1 for now. Surprised others say the GT500 is better, good to hear others opinions
Will do more research before I decide though
