OK, this may be basic for some of you, but....did you know that you can scroll on your Macbook by dragging TWO fingers across the trackpad? This takes a while to get used to but it is the way I scroll all the time now.
You can also set trackpad preferences so that a double tap of your finger on the pad is the same as a click.

Also shift+option+ any key unleashed a bunch of cool symbols, try shift+option+k
