ZR1 clearly has the top-end, but the PDK .2 is no slouch .

911 Turbo any day of the week, just look how good it is and that it has more than 100hp less than the zr1 but still holding.

The PDK isn't as fast as the manual tranny at the top end (speed/acceleration). I actually think that PDK is slower to 60 than manual if you don't use launch control. Both are awesome cars, but the Turbo is still for me . Like I always say, you can always have the fastest, but is it the best? Well in this case, the 911 Turbo is the fastest and the best

It is realy surprising when i see 2 cars racing with different horspower and weight, being very close in straight line performance. Especialy that the Porsche 997.2 Turbo is heavier by 192 lb's , has 138 hp less power & is down on torque by 88 lb ft. It's German rocket science at it's best.

2010 997.2 Turbo -
* Power : 500 HP SAE
* Torque: 516 ft lb
* Curb weight (lbs) 3,461(manual transmission), 3516 (PDK Transmission)
* Power-to-weight ratio = 6.922 lb per hp (Manual), 7.032 lb per hp (PDK).

2010 Corvette ZR1 -
* Power : 638 HP SAE
* Torque: 604 ft lb
* Curb weight (lbs) 3,324
* Power-to-weight ratio = 5.210 lb per hp

Great run by 997tt ZR1 does not have any grip on those rear wheels to catch up in the start but give it another mile it would...

But the Turbo PDK doesn't have the advertised 500 HP. Its dynod 480-490 whp. We are well aware that the PDK is more like a 550 HP car. Knowing that...

Turbo PDK:
3516 / 550 = 6.39 lbs / hp

ZR1:
3350 / 638 = 5.2 lsb / hp

Now, take the advantage of the PDK trans into perspective, and it all makes sense that the ZR1 seems to be about 3 cars ahead to ~160 mph. The first race is a real world type that most ZR1 drivers have to face daily....traction issues included.

For real world useability- the Turbo wins handsdown. I'd be willing to bet 98% of the ZR1 population would never really be able to get the car to hook up. It's just a 'my car has more HP then yours' car.

But that ZR1 makes some cool sounds, for sure.
