The transformation from convertible to targa is permanent and includes the replacement of the soft-top convertible roof by a semi-detachable targa hardtop.

The more I look at that TechArt Type 1 kit, the more the front lip and side-skirts look blatantly like add-ons and dont match the overall character of the car. Dark colors certainly hide this better.
