If I thought it easy enough to ride, it would be in the garage.

It's awesome... I love all the naked Ducati bikes. I would have bought one by now, but riding in the DC area would scare the crap out of me! It's dangerous enough in a car.

I'd love to have that in my garage!

The modern ducks are as easy to ride as anything else. Just much more fun.

What's the MSRP on this bike? How does it compare to the Monster in terms of ridability? Would it be appropriate for a total beginner?

Likely in the neighborhood of 15k.

Much faster, similar ergonomics.

Would it be appropriate for a total beginner?
For most, no. For those with exceptional self control, sure. It has the ~160 horse SBK engine.

In terms of riding position it is quite similar to that of the monster. The beauty of a street fighter bike is the wide range of adjustability with handlebar height..etc.

For a first bike, i would highly advise against it. It has the same 1099cc V-Twin engine that comes from the firm's superbike range (read 1098) and pumps out 155 horsepower and 87.5 lb-ft of torque. That's a lot of power for a beginner. This engine isn't as smooth as an in-line 4 off the line either. Because of that, it isn't uncommon to have to bring it up to 2k just to get going without bucking the engine. When I jump off my R1 and get on my friends 1098, I'm amazed at how much more concentration is demanded from the bike to ride it smoothly.
