Mesh screen for 997TT front grille

I got tired of having to fish out objects from within the front spoiler area in my 997TT plus a friend recently had his radiator punctured by a solid object of some type. I'd been thinking of getting it done but it was finally time to do it. Larry with his "twin" car also had it done too. We both had a mesh screen made by a local tuner shop and powdercoated black.

What I like about it is that it's not that obvious and would be hard to see when within the car. I considered getting a hexagonal type but in the end opted to go with these instead. I also couldn't find anyone out there that sells these pieces. I found one but it requires removing the plastic vanes and IMHO it didn't look very good.

Can you see it?

Very happy with the end results and would highly recommend anyone looking to protect their radiator to get this mod done. It was relatively cheap.

Jason I once had a 996 Turbo and a mod like like would have been perfect, awesome job man.

I wish I could but I didn't do the installation. A local tuner shop did.

Very clean install. You really have to look for it to see it, and it seems to be a great investment, there is some expensive stuff up front on these cars.

I wonder what it would look like in stainless?

I wonder if those block the radiators and turn up the heat.

Salih, I have mesh across all the three openings on my Cayman turbo including the third radiator for the turbo and it changes nothing in terms of air flow to them.

Nope, it does not block the radiators at all. It works perfectly fine.
