New 2014 Turbo Ordered Today

1 Attachment(s)
Finally decided to get the new Turbo S. Went to the local P dealer today. I sold them my current 12' S for $135K. It had about 5800 miles on it and pretty mint. The fact the new TTS are much higher MSRPs dealers (at least in Silicon Valley) are paying top dollar for in warranty 12's and 13's. So It is a March Build so it should land in CA around April '14. So Monday I turn in the 12'. Being it's winter I won't miss it as much and when the new one arrives it will be perfect Nor Cal weather to break in the new one.

This the build sheet.

Sorry the PIC was too small. This may be better.

Dyna 12-08-2013 06:03 AM

Sorry the build sheet PIC sucks. So I will note the car's details:

Rhodium Silver Metallic
Black Leather
Porsche Entry & Drive
ParkAssist w/ Reversing Camera (Finally)
Standard Sunroof
Power Folding Side Mirrors
Side Mirrors painted (Lower Trim)
20-inch Turbo S Wheels
Front seat heating and ventilation
Smoking package
Light Design Package
Adaptive Sport seats Plus
Multifunction Steering wheel

With $995 DC it came to $187,595 minus $135K for my current 12' TTS. Although one would ask why not keep the 12'. After reading and watching countless video's of the new S it is simply a step function better in many respects and the new technology is impressive. So now the hard part. Taking in with my 12' TTS tomorrow and waiting until April. A long 5 months indeed. But worth the wait IMHO. PICs to follow when I take delivery at the dealer. It will never be cleaner then that day. Plans will be to clear bra the entire hood, bumper and front fenders and tint everything except windshield. We will see what aftermarket exhausts are out there next year and aftermarket air filter. Beyond that it will remain stock.

Alexscud 12-08-2013 01:13 PM

congrats for your new toy !:golfclap:

After rethinking the configuration about a thousand times tis weekend I think I may be change to the GT Silver and Black dash/red seat two tone or the full natural red interior.

Marc 12-09-2013 02:16 PM

Nice pickup my friend has the new TTS and its is far better then the 997.

Ced 12-09-2013 03:06 PM

Nice choice, how much was MSRP on your '12?
Awesome car the 991 TTS

ALB 12-09-2013 04:33 PM

kill the power fold mirrors because you lose out on the new Aero mirrors if you make it power fold.

smokinghot4cars 12-09-2013 04:34 PM

So just got back after selling and dropping off my 12' TTS to the dealer. So the Configuration went up $7K by adding GT Silver and all natural Red leather and a few other little bits like leather for the rear seat section and white on the instruments and Chrono dials. Also went with the clear tail lights. I will be happier even though it cost a little more to make that happen.

smokinghot4cars 12-11-2013 05:02 PM

Ok this is the final final configuration of my newly ordered 14' TTS

Just finalized my build sheet the other day. March build should arrive in CA April.

GT Silver Metallic
Natural Leather Interior in Carrera Red
Porsche Entry & Drive
Park Assist (Front & Rear) incl. Reversing Camera
Sunroof
Side Mirror painted (lower Trim)
Clear Glass Taillights
Power Steering Plus
Turbo S Wheels (CL)
Seat Heating
Seat Ventilation
Luggage net in Passenger Footwell
Smoking Package
Light design package
Instrument and Chrono Clock dials in White
Adaptive sport seats
Porsche Crest in headrests
Extended Interior package sport seats plus backrest in leather
Brush Aluminum interior and Center console trim

Total $194,850

Enrique 12-11-2013 08:03 PM

Great configuration.
I love GT silver, btw, i was looking at the specs sheet with a magnifier glass and my secretary was looking at me like a waco.

Badknees 12-12-2013 08:28 PM

GT Silver looks great on that car! I, too, would like to see delivery pictures.

Since you're turning in the '12 real early, to save on sales tax, do they "hold" the 135k, or cut you a check for something slightly less than 135k?

They cut me a check for $135K. The car changed title and the sale is done. I will have to pay the taxes on the full MSRP on the new 14' when it arrives. Taxes as always suck. You loose them when you sell a car and you pay when you buy another. Since the current 12' was sold now and the 14' won't arrive until April (Hope) it is basically two separate transactions. 8.75% in Santa Clara county plus registration that will be ~ $1500-$1600 I assume. The only good thing was my title on the 12' was up for renewal in January 12' of around $986.00. At least I didn't have to pay that. And they say CA is bankrupt.

Awesome car the 991 TTS

I bought it with 2100 miles on it for $138K a year ago. I think the original MSRP was ~ $164K. My new on is $30K more which is why they are giving good values to the 997.2 Turbo S car with low milage and two plus years on the warranty. They figure they can get it certified and get ~ $145K retail.

Your new 991 TT S sounds great. I looked at 1 up close yesterday - nice looking car- very wide and I like the led lights. By the way your tax will be $16 k on your new car - I live in Cali too - good times!

Thank for the reminder! :beingsick:

Does California allow you to save on sales tax by taking into account the value of a trade?

I'm talking to a dealer who says they will:
1) take my trade early
2) give me a check for an amount slightly less than the trade
3) sales tax calculated at new car price less full trade
4) I give them a check for amount of new car less the amount not given to me in the check in step 2

Not sure. But my transactions were a sold car for $135K. Check for $135K. Once my new car comes in it's simply buying the new car. Whatever taxes registration etc are added to the MSRP.

I am going to take the $135K and go to Vegas and put in all in on one hand of 21. Wish me luck!!

Just Kidding. :hilarious:

In CA you pay the full sales tax based on the purchase price of the car (no deduction for trade in)

I hope they don't start a trend.

Chimi-Changa 01-04-2014 10:37 AM

That is horrible!- especially at those prices, and tax rates. Many states keep them open for up to a year ( in some cases longer)

Zambrano 01-04-2014 04:30 PM

Taxes. Taxes everywhere.

Thats why we register our cars in a free car-taxes state

Looking forward to Delivery pics and driving impressions!
It will look great in silver!

SpeedEvo 01-16-2014 08:57 PM

Is there sales tax on a lease?

JonnybravoM3 01-19-2014 01:39 AM

Congrats! Looking forward to your review.

Wonder how the 991 Turbo (non-S) compares to the 997 TTS.

Marc 01-19-2014 12:31 PM

good move the 991 is light years ahead, I owned a 12 TTS and I have driven the new Turbo S and it is a different animal all together! Pics when in garage I know the waiting game!

It's added monthly as opposed to the entire tax bill when purchased.
