What's so great about Intercoolers?

This 997turbo came to us with an aftermarket tune(NOT OURS), intake, and exhaust. The ONLY change we made to this vehicle was installing a set of our intercoolers. We did not even touch the tune(as you can see the A/F gets a little wavy at the high-end on the before and after runs, which was a trait of this particular aftermarket tune). This car made a very impressive 95whp and 140lb/ft of torque improvement over when it came in! It also picked up albs of boost across the mid-range as well.

That is incredible. Bravo.

I feel like intercoolers are often overlooked.

have you ever seen that much gain from just ICs before? that is pretty significant & i've never heard of straight gains like that before - usually it's after sustained runs/etc. is there anything else w/ this car that could account for it?

These dynos are from a customer 996Turbo that came in with a Generic(NON-TPC) Tune and an exhaust. All we did was bolt up our TPC Racing Blitzkrieg 5" Intercoolers. This car gained a massive 80whp and 90lb/ft of torque across the low to mid-range. You can also see the the car picked up about a pound of boost from 3600-4500RPM, and smoothed out the A/F slightly. Now this car just needs some upgraded turbochargers to really let it gain some BIG POWER.
