Winter Testing Bugatti EB110 Prototypes Is Mesmerizing To Watch

By -

Bugatti EB110 prototypes handled the white stuff surprisingly well.

While most of the United States is still covered in a blanket of summertime warmth, we feel the time is now to remind some of our residents of the inevitable: Snow. But we’ll do it in a fun way.

Prototype testing of cars is a regular occurrence for any manufacturer, as they need to make sure all of the car’s functions will survive dreadfully cold conditions. After all, a manufacturer never knows exactly how a customer will use their car. Even manufacturers like Bugatti, seen here in this vintage footage testing EB110 prototypes. We all know cars like these will never be taken up a ski pass or travel down an icy road, but we guess it’s good to know that if you want to, you can.

Appropriate winter tires are called upon to keep the blue Bugs relatively stable, and this seems to do wonders. Traction is understandably scarce, but the cars never seem to struggle with acceleration, cornering, or the occasional donut. They even have enough traction to pull another car through the snow!

Obviously, a production EB110 would soon follow, with less “buggy” looking headlights and a few other refinements. We’re not sure how many of those cars have seen snow, or if their owners truly know what they are capable of.
